Work in Progress

The first phase of these works are currently underway and include the creation of a 8-lane 400mm track with 10-lane sprint section, various field facilities (including javelin, long jump, pole vault and discus) cross-country running trails, a new bridge over the Whitechurch Stream and a spectator viewing platform. This phase of development also includes a new footpath along the Tibradden Road, a car and coach park, surface water attenuation, the diversion of existing overhead High Voltage power lines and sundry service structures. The earthworks for the development include changing a sloping field to a level athletics track entailing the movement of around 20,000m3 of material.
